While the first chapter of the book I'm reading on photography basics instructs the reader to shut off all AUTO type settings, chapter 3 takes us back to being hands-off.
This chapter encourages the use of the "automatic zone."
Since I am still learning the use of the creative zone, not having to think whether all my settings are right is a nice break. Just point and shoot.
Shots in PORTRAIT setting.
Notice how it softens the facial features. I love this setting.
The other setting I practiced with tonight was the Night Portrait option.
Again, I am amazed. It's going to be hard to leave these automatic options.

I haven't even tried those settings. What book are you reading?
Canon EOS Rebel T2i / 550D: From Snapshots to Great Shots by Jeff Revell. I am learning so much. It is so much fun!
